Keynote Speakers hosted at MacLeod Hall
Individuals attending Keynote Speaker sessions at MacLeod Hall will be required to show their ticket for the session. This may be obtained from your schedule. Individuals may use the electronic ticket or printed ticket. Please DO NOT show your general admission ticket.
In past years teachers have asked to access unoccupied seats available for Keynote Speakers in MacLeod Hall, Telus Convention Centre. We have negotiated a solution….
Teachers will be seated from the front of the hall to the back of the hall. Teachers will be guided to the first row, moving to the end of the row taking seats until the row is filled. The next row will be filled until the hall is filled with pre-registered tickets.
Unoccupied seats will be filled from the back of the hall, the last 15 minutes prior to the session staring.
Please be patient as we implement this new seating arrangement to accommodate teachers’ desire to access unoccupied seats in MacLeod Hall during keynote sessions.
We require additional volunteers during convention to implement this new seating arrangement. If you are interested in volunteering during convention please apply using this link Volunteer sign up.
CCTCA Reception: February 15 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
As the first day of convention comes to a close, please join us in the Hyatt Regency Calgary Imperial Ballroom for a celebratory reception. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be provided and a cash bar will be available. This year we will offer entertainment provided by guest performers from BlockHeater. This is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, speakers, and invited guests.
The reception will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Parking & Shuttle Buses during Convention
Parking downtown is at a premium during convention. Parking at St. Mary’s is especially limited. The best option, if possible, is to take the LRT downtown to the Hyatt and TELUS Convention Centre. Once you’re at the Convention Centre, you can make use of the Shuttle Bus service that runs between the Glenbow Museum entrance located on the south entrance of the Convention Centre and St. Mary’s High School. This shuttle operates between the hours of 7:30 am – 4:30 pm each day.
This year we have an additional shuttle service to Telus Spark, for those individuals registered for sessions at Telus Spark. This shuttle service operates between the Glenbow Museum entrance located on the south entrance of the Convention Centre and Telus Spark. This shuttle operates between the hours of 7:30 am – 4:30 pm each day. There will be a stop at Calgary Zoo, if delegates would like to take the bus to the Calgary Zoo and save parking fees.
Individual attending sessions at Calgary Zoo do not pay gate entrance fees. Please give the gate attendant your name, session and time of session.
Parking fees are in effect.
Individuals attending sessions at Winsport Thursday February 15 can attend the session at MMC building, entrance #23 on the attached map. Free parking is available around the building.
Individuals registered at Telus Spark may take the bus. This bus starts at Telus Convention Centre, outside the Glenbow Museum (9 Avenue) to Telus Spark and return. The bus will loop between Telus Convention Centre and Telus Spark February 15 and 16 starting 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Parking is available for $5.00 per day.
Limited free parking is available in the community parking lot north of Telus Spark.
Blockheater is available during convention The Calgary Folk Music Festival presents: Block Heater! A winter music extravaganza, every February at multiple venues along the Music Mile.
